Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nations-governed educational institution. Established in 1976, SIIT was created in response to the need for quality post-secondary education for Indigenous people in an environment that promotes traditional ways and supports student success. SIIT originally delivered adult academic upgrading and later branched into post-secondary programs. It is one of only four credit-granting post-secondary institutions in the province, and the only credit granting Indigenous institution. SIIT provides adult learners with academic, vocational, and technical training as well as services and supports for employment and career growth. Indigenous learners are at the core of SIIT, representing over 90% of the student body.

An exciting opportunity exists to join a dynamic post-secondary institution with a strong service orientation to learners and the broader community. The Vice President of Academics is responsible for the overall academic integrity and direction of the Institute. This position provides strategic leadership, direction, and vision for programs and services at SIIT which promote academic success and create a student-centered atmosphere. In this role, the VP, Academics will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT’s vision, mission, and mandate. The VP will be accountable for the planning, organizing, staffing, and managing of the Institute’s academic operations. The Vice President, Academics champions a student-focused culture and provides oversight to academic departments and academic projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team through deployment of innovation, strategy, and change management. This leader will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to action and deliver on strategic planning & goal setting with successful results, along with an aptitude for financial management. This position requires a people-focused leader that places a high value on communication, effective team dynamics and interpersonal skills.
