Program Description
As the construction industry continues to expand, the opportunities for Indigenous people to be gainfully employed in the trades continue to increase. There is now a shortage of skilled workers in the roofing trade in Saskatchewan. Roofers install, repair, and replace flat and sloped roofs. They work with membrane roofing systems that consist of a variety of materials with different application methods. They also install, replace and repair shingles, slate, shakes, roofing tiles, sheet metal and other preformed sheeting on sloped roofs. This program is designed to give the students key fundamental knowledge and practical skills to obtain employability in the roofing industry. On successful completion of the program, students will be well equipped with skills applicable to a broad variety of careers, and life essential skills.
